Just hook up to the batteries, turn it on, and let it do the charging.The instructions (and battery tender website) are missing a few little details that noobies to battery chargers (like me) might over look.Other than that I am extremely happy with the purchase.If I could go back I would have purchased the 10 bank charger being that I have 8 batteries, and didn't realize how long it would take to charge one bank of 4 batteries at a time.
